Bellevue Volleyball Leads the Way!

The Bellevue Varsity volleyball team is off to a great start this season with four straight wins! They opened their season in Bainbridge Island on Labor Day with a dominating 3-0 win and giving the Wolverines strong momentum heading into a tough schedule last week with three matches against Bothell, Liberty and Juanita High Schools. The Wolverines beat Bothell, a 4A division team, in a close match stretching out all five sets before pulling through with a 3-2 win. They played again the next night against the Liberty Patriots and found themselves tied 1-1 early in the match. A series of strong serves and some great defense had the team pulling ahead and ending with a 3-1 win. The team finished the week strong in another sweep against the Juanita Rebels winning 3-0 to remain undefeated and moving the team into an early division lead.

The Junior Varsity team also started off strong with a 2-0 win against Bainbridge Island, but fell to Bothell in straight sets losing 0-2 against the division 4A team. They came back against the Liberty Patriots in a battle for the win ending 2-1 last Tuesday night, then finished their week with a dominating show of serving aces to beat the Juanita Rebels in two straight sets. The C-Team also started strong beating Bainbridge Island and Liberty High Schools 2-1 for both matches, but couldn’t hold on to their momentum against the Juanita Rebels, losing 3-0 in their last match of the week.
